Nancherrow Youth Project.

 

My name is Patrick Murphy. I am a community organiser working in West Cornwall.

I trained with Locality for a year who are the recognised body for training community organisers and graduated in July 2014.

My previous career was as a plumber for 27 years and I’ve worked in Cornwall since 1999. Due to a knee replacement I had to change career direction and after volunteering in the mental health area for two years I decided to train as a community organiser.

I work in the Pendeen, St. Buryan, St Just and Penzance area of Cornwall and am currently in the middle of an eight month intensive training course in Community Rights. This training will enable me to understand all the legislation regarding what community rights are and how to use them for the good of the community.
